Do you live in the Hill District and are an entrepreneur? Then Urban Innovation21 is looking to help you. Urban Innovation21 believes that entrepreneurship is the engine to boost regional development. They have launched a Small Business Grant Competition that is open to businesses owned by Hill District residents that are in the start-up stage, as well as to established businesses. Businesses that additionally operate out of the Hill District will be given extra consideration.

Up to a total of $50,000 will be granted in this competition. Eligible businesses include supply chain businesses such as distribution, manufacturing, transportation, business services, etc. Also eligible are support businesses such as coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores and service businesses. Multi-level marketing businesses will not be considered.

All businesses will be required to provide an entrepreneur profile, a business summary and business plan. There are a series of workshops to help you to complete the application (click here to view the list), but you may still apply without attending these workshops.

You can apply online here or download an application and mail it in or hand deliver it. The deadline to apply is March 27, 2014, by 5 PM. For more information, please view their website and Good Luck!
